Why is Jivo a Part of the Sant Samagam
About The Samagam and the Patron Saint
Every February, a sacred congregation is held at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj in the memory of Sant Attar Singh Ji.
Whether you’re a long-time devotee or a first-time visitor, the Samagam is an opportunity to immerse yourself in spiritual bliss and connect with a community that shares your values.
JIVO is humbled to be part of this grand event once again, reinforcing our belief that well-being extends beyond physical health—it’s about nurturing a community, fostering unity, and being a part of greater cause.
Know More About Sant Attar Singh Ji
Sant Attar Singh Ji was a visionary saint and a harbinger of modern education, deeply committed to the holistic development of individuals. A prominent figure in the Sikh community and in the Nation as well, he dedicated his life to spreading the Spiritual Teachings while advocating for the integration of spiritual and scientific education.
He is also famously known as the Saint who laid the foundation stone of the first Sanskrit College at Banaras Hindu University in 1914, at the invitation of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya.
Recognizing the transformative power of education, especially for women, he established a girls’ school in 1906, followed by the Akal Degree College in 1920 at Mastuana Sahib. His foresight emphasized that educating the girl child would lead to the enlightenment of entire families. Sant Attar Singh Ji also founded numerous educational institutions, including Khalsa High Schools and colleges across Punjab, and actively participated in educational conferences.
His efforts extended beyond borders, as he sent Scholars like Sant Teja Singh, abroad for higher education and the propagation of spiritual teachings. A firm believer in blending education with values like compassion and humility, Sant Attar Singh Ji’s legacy continues to inspire through the annual Sant Samagam held in his memory, celebrating his contributions to education and spirituality.
